Documentation

The Document to Image tool converts PDF, Word docx, Excel xlsx/xls, TXT, and RTF files to JPG or PNG images locally in the browser. Files are not uploaded to a server, making it useful for contract previews, report snapshots, lesson materials, scanned archives, and document sharing.

Supported Formats

  • PDF: renders pages as images with page range and scale controls.
  • Word docx: extracts document text and generates paged images.
  • Excel xlsx/xls: converts the first sheet or all sheets.
  • TXT/RTF: paginates text content and renders it as images.
  • .doc: not supported. Save the file as .docx first.

Conversion Settings

  • Output format: JPG is suitable for sharing and smaller files; PNG keeps sharper text edges.
  • Scale: higher values improve clarity but increase conversion time and output size.
  • PDF page range: leave empty for all pages, or use formats such as 1,3-5,8.
  • Excel sheets: convert only the first sheet or every sheet in the workbook.
  • File name prefix: controls generated image and ZIP file names.

Tips

  • Large PDFs or high-scale output use more memory. Test with a smaller page range first.
  • Word and Excel content is reflowed as text images, not captured as an exact office-app screenshot.
  • Multiple images are packaged as a ZIP. A single image can be downloaded directly.
