Purpose

Food Portion Converter helps you quickly convert food amounts in cooking, meal prep, and baking scenarios. It supports gram-milliliter conversion by ingredient density and provides spoon, cup, and common portion references.

Features

  • Weight and volume conversion: Convert between grams and milliliters after selecting an ingredient.
  • Kitchen measure conversion: Convert tablespoon and teaspoon values, and convert cups to ml, tbsp, and tsp.
  • Baking ratio conversion: Enter flour weight to estimate water, salt, yeast, and sugar/fat amounts.
  • Reference data: Includes ingredient density table, kitchen unit references, nutrient calorie factors, and portion size tips.

How to Use

  1. Select an ingredient in the weight and volume section.
  2. Enter either weight or volume, and the other value updates automatically.
  3. Switch to kitchen measure or baking ratio sections when needed.
  4. Use the reference blocks to adjust recipes and portion planning.

Typical Scenarios

  • Home cooking with mixed measuring units.
  • Meal prep with ingredient weight tracking.
  • Baking recipe scaling and unit conversion.

Kitchen Weighing Tips

  • Use measuring cups for liquids and a kitchen scale for solids for better accuracy.
  • Flour density can vary by brand and storage conditions.
  • For baking, weight-based recipes are usually more stable than volume-based recipes.
  • Level off spoons after filling for more consistent measurements.

Notes

  • Ingredient density varies by brand, moisture, and cut style, so results are reference values.
  • For baking, weight-based formulas are generally more consistent than volume-based formulas.
  • All calculations run locally in your browser, and inputs are not uploaded.
