Documentation

The PDF Compression tool reduces file size locally in your browser by recompressing JPEG images embedded in PDF files, with quality and scale options for contracts, invoices, scanned records, and submission documents.

Key Features

  • Compress one PDF file locally without uploading it to the server.
  • Choose from high-quality, standard, or small-size compression levels.
  • Apply 100%, 75%, or 50% resolution scaling.
  • Preserve non-JPEG content and only recompress JPEG image streams inside the PDF.
  • Review size changes, reduction rate, and the output file before download.

Steps

  1. Upload one PDF file or drag it into the tool area.
  2. Choose the compression level and resolution scale you want.
  3. Click Start Compression and wait for the local processing to finish.
  4. Review the result, size change, and output file name, then download the PDF.

Compression Scope and Limits

  • The current version only compresses JPEG images inside the PDF.
  • Size reduction may be limited when the file mainly contains text, vectors, or non-JPEG images.
  • Encrypted, damaged, or unreadable PDF files will fail and need to be unlocked or replaced first.

Use Cases

  • Reduce file size before sending contracts, agreements, and archive files.
  • Shrink invoices, reimbursement scans, and other scanned records before submission.
  • Optimize bid packages, approval attachments, and project documents before upload.
  • Handle privacy-sensitive PDF image compression entirely in the local browser.
