Documentation

The PDF Page Comparison tool compares two PDF files locally in the browser. It supports page-number comparison, automatic page matching, side-by-side preview, overlay preview, highlighted differences, and text report export.

Main Features

  • Upload two PDF files and compare them locally.
  • Compare by page number: fixed pairing such as A page 1 vs B page 1 and A page 2 vs B page 2, for revisions of the same PDF.
  • Auto match pages: identify identical or similar pages first, then build A/B pairs for inserted, removed, or reordered pages.
  • Review results with side-by-side, overlay, and highlighted difference views.
  • Count identical, similar, different, A-only, and B-only pages.
  • Download a UTF-8 text comparison report.

How to Use

  1. Upload PDF A and PDF B.
  2. Choose the comparison mode, render quality, and fuzzy threshold.
  3. Click Compare.
  4. Switch between side-by-side, overlay, and difference views in the result area.
  5. Download the comparison report when you need an audit record.

Use Cases

  • Review contracts, bids, reports, and revised documents.
  • Check scanned files, invoices, and vouchers before submission.
  • Compare design proofs, papers, course files, and PDF revisions.
  • Verify whether pages are missing or out of order after PDF reordering.

Notes

  • Encrypted PDFs may need to be decrypted before comparison.
  • Higher render quality gives finer difference images but takes longer.
  • Automatic matching is based on page signatures and fuzzy hashes, so complex pages should still be reviewed manually.
  • The tool does not modify the original PDF files.
