Documentation

PDF Split lets you split one PDF locally in your browser by page ranges, every N pages, every page, even or odd pages, visual page selection, top-level bookmarks, or evenly sized parts. The result can be downloaded as a single PDF or a ZIP package.

Core Features

  • Upload or drag one PDF file and split it locally in the browser.
  • Split by page ranges, every N pages, every page, or odd/even pages.
  • Select pages visually in the preview grid and automatically merge continuous pages into one output segment.
  • Read top-level bookmarks and split the PDF at bookmark positions.
  • Divide the full document into N parts as evenly as possible.
  • Download multiple output files individually or as one ZIP package.

How To Use

  1. Upload one PDF file or drag it into the upload area.
  2. Choose the split mode you need.
  3. Enter page ranges, pages per file, or part count, or select pages in the preview area.
  4. Start the split process and wait for the local conversion to finish.
  5. Review the output list and download one file at a time or download all results together.

Supported Split Modes

  • By page range: input like 1,3-5,8, where each comma-separated item becomes one output file.
  • By every N pages: enter 2 to generate one file for every 2 pages.
  • Every page separately: export each page as its own PDF file.
  • Even or odd pages: export only odd pages, only even pages, or both as separate files.
  • Visual selection: choose pages from the preview grid; continuous pages are merged into one output segment.
  • By bookmarks: split the document at the start page of each top-level bookmark.
  • Into N parts: divide the full document into N parts with page counts distributed as evenly as possible.

Usage Notes

  • Page ranges support single pages, continuous ranges, and reverse ranges such as 5-3.
  • Thumbnails are generated first for only part of the document, while all remaining pages can still be selected by page number.
  • If the PDF has no usable top-level bookmarks, bookmark mode will remain unavailable.
  • A single output is downloaded directly as PDF, while multiple outputs can be downloaded individually or packaged into a ZIP file.

Use Cases

  • Split contract attachments and archived files by chapter or bookmark.
  • Separate scanned files by odd/even pages, page ranges, or every single page.
  • Break invoices, reimbursement sheets, or vouchers into independent PDF files.
  • Handle privacy-sensitive PDF pagination entirely inside the browser without uploading files to a server.
