What Is the Random Port Generator

The Random Port Generator helps you pick port numbers inside a selected range, with single generation, unique batch output, and optional avoidance of common service ports for local development and debugging.

How to Use This Tool

  1. Choose an available, development, registered, dynamic, or custom range.
  2. Switch the protocol label between TCP, UDP, or TCP / UDP.
  3. Enable the avoidance option if you want to reduce conflicts with common service ports.
  4. Use single mode to generate one port or batch mode to export multiple unique ports.
  5. Open the reference tab to review IANA port ranges and common default service ports.

Key Features

  • Instant single-port generation and copy
  • Unique batch output with text download
  • Multiple range presets plus custom range input
  • Common service port avoidance and reference guidance

Typical Use Cases

  • Choosing listener ports for local web apps, APIs, and scripts
  • Preparing Docker mappings, reverse proxy rules, and integration setups
  • Creating unique ports for QA tasks, protocol experiments, and temporary environments

Important Notes

This tool generates candidate ports from the selected range and rules only. It does not check whether a port is already occupied on your machine, so confirm availability before final use.
