Tool Overview
The video compressor reduces common video files to MP4 directly in your browser. Files are not uploaded to a server, making it suitable for recordings, course videos, editing clips and files that need to be shared.
Supported Features
- Input formats: common video files including MP4, AVI, MOV, MKV, WEBM, M4V, FLV, WMV, MPEG and 3GP.
- Output format: MP4.
- Quality options: high, medium and low.
- Output size options: original size, 1080p, 720p and 480p.
Use Cases
- Compress screen recordings before uploading or sending.
- Process course videos, meeting recordings and presentation clips.
- Reduce file size before publishing to social platforms, web pages or chat apps.
- Handle private videos locally without uploading them to third-party services.
Notes
- The first run loads local FFmpeg WebAssembly files. Keep the page open while it loads.
- Video compression can use significant CPU and memory. Large files may take longer on mobile devices.
- If the compressed file is not smaller, try a lower quality or lower output size.
